DA sander recommendations

Looking for thoughts on a good DA sander for prepping a cab and sheetmetal for paint. Cordless would be ideal but corded electric or pneumatic would work too.

The new Milwaukee M12. One of my bodymen has one and he loves it.

I have a couple. A 25 year old Chicago Pneumatic and a Snap On. Bought the Snap On on the LS1tech.com web site a couple of years ago. The CP has been bullet proof. Just oil it once and awhile.
Both air powered.

Dynabrade has been the autobody industry standard for decades.

Outside of that make sure you get one with a 3/16" not a 3/32" orbit for basic autobody work. 3/23" is for fine finishing with grits smaller than 320.

If your going pneumatic look at the air consumption rates if your compressor is small to medium sized. Many cheaper DA's can really use the air.

For me palm versions are nicer to use over the ones with handles.

Last october I was in the market and settled on a corded DeWalt that takes the hook style sanding discs. I have an older air operated DA that sucks the air from the compressor and was looking for something quieter. Worked great for my project.

All probably need dust blown out.
Air needs lots of air. Look into lots of air.
Batteries die and don't last.
Corded have infinite power but keep you withing ~100 feet.
