TBI help
I am trying to swap a L05 engine and all TBI stuff into a 1978 K30. I did a similar swap a few years ago but have forgotten most of what I learned. I am using an NV4500 transmission. I was planning on buying a new computer and buying an EPROM for manual transmissions, but it seems like you can't buy new EPROMs from GM anymore.
I have a computer and EPROM from a 1987 suburban with a TH400. Would this work in a manual transmission truck since there is no lockup for the converter on TH400s, or is the fuel table completely different? Or if anyone has a source for new GM EPROMs and could direct me to them that would be awesome. I am trying to avoid the aftermarket route. |

Re: TBI help
I can't answer your question, but I can share what I do know. I ran WinALDL to monitor my 1990 K1500 with manual transmission. The spew showed TCC locked. That may indicate that the ECM could be for either manual or automatic. Another approach would be to see what your '87 computer is good for. What is the number on it?

Re: TBI help
These guys are great on TBI related
My guess is you need a eprom / computer from a 3rd gen Camaro/Firebird or a C1500 truck. https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tbi/
