Stepside bed angle trim question
I got my truck painted and the painter replaced the bedsides, and the angles were attached to the bed sides, so they got painted along with everything else. I wanted to do these in polished stainless along with the other bed strips, but now I see that they seem to be spot welded to the bed sides. Am I just out of luck on this? There is no way that I can remove the angles from the bedsides without messing up my paint is there?

Drill some holes and use some stainless steel bolts

Re: Stepside bed angle trim question
The ones that are on my bedsides have a spot weld every inch all the way down the side, even between the cab and the rear fenders. I had read where some were just spot welded under the fender area, and I would have drilled those out and put SST screws thru the side because the bolts would have been under the fenders, but my spot welds are outside of the fenders as well. I don't want screws showing on the outside. I considered attempting to grind the spot weld off from the inside only, but I think that is too big of a risk to take, I could easily overheat the paint and bubble it up on the outside or mess the paint up somehow doing that. After looking at zicc1835's bed, I guess that doesn't look so bad (it's beautiful). I think I'll just do it like he did... unless someone knows of a safe surefire way to get them off, the last thing I want to do is mess up my paint at this point.
