2 main differences:
1. In 72, the flat steel inner door panel was nixed for a moulded plastic one. This one uses clips to attach it rather than screws. The contours of this panel requitred longer shafts on the inner door release and the window regulator handles. 2. After years of cracked doors, GM finally re-enforced the area where the wing vent post entered the innder door shell by installing a screw to hold the inner and outer door skins together at that point. They found out that had use on the wing vent cuased stress in this area. Neither of these issues should prevent door interchangeability as long as you have the matching "guts" for the door panel and strict adherence to stock is not an issue. Any year door will bolt onto any year cab.

I also noticed a difference in the door handle mount on my 67' doors. The repro handles don't mount on my door. My door has a bracket welded on the inside of the outter skin that makes the mounting bolts enter the door handle horizontal. The bracket is kinda "L" shaped. I had to have my original handles rechromed to get a proper fit on the door.
