Yet another ride ht question
The Scotts IFS that I bought a couple years ago is installed/tacked in place. I remember Scotts telling me that their kit will leave front end about 2” lower than stock. I am now wanting to install the rear 4 link, but I do not know what the top of my frame rails (at rear end) elevation needs to be. I have it blocked up to 25” at the moment, but I am not convinced that is correct. I can’t start from the front and go back 2 degrees to the rear because I do not have an engine/trans yet or enough weight up front to simulate ride ht. My rear tires will be 1” taller than the front. Can anyone help figure out what rear frame rails ht needs to be? I want the truck lowered, not slammed.
Edit - I think I found my answer. Set the running boards where I want and go from there. Last edited by -Dan-; 01-15-2026 at 09:00 AM. |

Re: Yet another ride ht question
Just FYI, on my '49 here's some dimensions measured from the floor:
front of frame 10.5" front of running board 9.5" rear of running board 12.5" rear of frame 20" those dimensions are on a fully built, driving truck. Your dimensions may vary. Hope this helps

Re: Yet another ride ht question
In the reply box, hit the thing that looks like a paper clip. Next box will ask you to upload from pc - hit “choose file”. It will give you an option of choose photo from your library or take picture. Do one of them then hit “upload”, give it a few seconds then hit close window and you are done. At least that is how my iPad works. I’m sure there are easier ways, but that works for me.

Re: Yet another ride ht question
There's a sticky at the top of the 47-59 area, on how to post pictures. Creatively, it's titled, "Pics and how to post"
