I've seen new aftermarket ones listed @ $ 200. Is that the going rate ? I admit that I am cheap and do not wish to pay that much. Here's the deal, I am building my truck from the ground up. It will be a daily driver not a show truck. Therefore I am not willing to spend big dollars on any 1 item. Can these be self fabricated easily?

anything can be fabricated depends on the skill level of the person trying to do it
the easy way to find out is get youself a piece of 18 or 20 gauge sheetmetal and try it

Look into your local laws before doing this. Federal law mandates a front bumper (but some states do not enforce it) and to do a front roll pan you'll have to chop off about 4 to 6 inches of frame rail (where the bumper bolts up to) so it is not easy to go back once you do it.

I don't think you need to chop that much frame to fit the pan. On the Mar-K website it says you have to remove 2" to fit their pan. I chopped mine back flush with the radiator support mounts just to make sure it was back far enough.

Even so, it is a frame mod that is harder to reverse than a simple nut and bolt procedure.

I agree, it isn't a decision to take lightly. It's not like you can just "bolt it back on". But it does look good (in my opinion), especially on 67-68's.
