I Miss My Truck... - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

No technical post here, just one truck guy looking for sympathy from his fellow addicts.

It all started shortly after Christmas, when I brought my truck to the In-laws out of town for storage until spring. You see, our new place (moved in November) only has a single garage with a single driveway. And the overnight parking bans (for snow removal) in Winnipeg, prohibit me from parking the truck on the street. So, since it doesn't get used much during the winter anyway, we (or should I say my wife

) decided to move it to her parent's place. It's only a 30 minute drive, but it feels like forever when your away from your baby...

Anyway, once the snow is gone, I'll bring her back to town. And maybe by the time the next winter comes, I'll have the beginnings of my new garage in place - at least the concrete pad.

Thanks for listening and feeling for me. I knew I could count on all of you.

i know the feeling, my 82 sat at my aunt's house behind the barn for almost a year. its hard, but im sure you'll manage.

i still have my truck but i cant drive it cuz its a peice of poo untill i work on it

i have mine parked up on the lawn half the time with the snow plow blocking it in . bein its slow season the 86 dont move much and the 76 dont move at all while its in pieces

yeh, it needs a tranny and brakes before its a decent driver.... i still drive it around town but it doesnt go over 30mph

yaeh I know the feeling, I stored mine when I came up to Fort Mac at the beginning of October. I didn't drive it for more than two week after I had the bodywork done and a sweet stereo in it. It's like my first kid. I saw it at Christmas when I went home (frozen battery, tranny fluid on the shop floor, felt pretty sad, like I neglected it or something) Can't wait until the 2 feet of snow is gone and the temp stays above -30C. I had to buy 20" rims for it to say I was sorry.
I know I'm pretty sick but I'm sure that's what other Canadians feel like.

Thanks for all the positive thoughts - - I can definitely "feel the love".

The one good thing about this situation is that when I go to get the truck in spring (in a couple of months), I can once again be impressed by how easily it will start and how smoothly it will run, even after sitting for a while through some tough conditions. Of course, I'm going by experience here.
