looking for pic of inside replacement panel above windshield
My cab has a good amount of rot above the windshield on the inside. I was looking for a picture of the replacement piece that you can buy, to get an idea of what all would have to be cut.

Might check with some of the board--dealers. I know GMCPaul, Wes, Tim Christian, and others have that little beauty. It may also be pictured in the new LMC catalog. It basically spans the inner roof from winshield pillar to pillar and from the leading edge of the inner roof back about 8-10". Not a fun project or one for the weak at heart. Good luck---Huck

Yea.. I figured it would be headache to put in. But, I've already done some floor patching, new rockers and cab corners, so why not tackle this. Next time, I'm getting a near rust-free cab!!! hahahaha

If you tackle this project take plenty of pics, I'd lke to see this done. I junked a 72 Super Cheyennee A/C cab this past week because the windshield frame was rotted.

awww.. can't be that bad.. a few cut off disc's, the replacement panel, mig welder, few Budweisers, lots and lots of cussin'... hahahaha
seriously though, mine isn't too bad I don't guess. Its rotted right in the middle above the mirror, a spot about 12" long.. I figure by the time I get the bad stuff cut out, shouldn't be more than about 18"... that's why I was wanting to see the panel. I might end up just cutting out what I need, instead of putting the complete piece in.. but have to wait and see

A few years back me and my Dad did a hack fix to his 70. The whole area was pretty bad, we took spray foam and filled it up in there then shaped it, then covered it with body filler. Looked just like normal.

Mine also has rust there...BAD
It has spread throughout the driprails. I even have rust above the rear window too! In a year or so i will proably have rust holes breaking through the inside of the cab....right now there are just alot of bubbles. I think i will just junk the cab, even though it is original to the truck....it would be alot of work to fix it (have to weld on a new roof), and it needs rockers, supports, and a bit of floor work. Suprisingly though, the cab corners are rock solid.....
