Look What I Found in My Driveway Today!

You just can't pass up a short fleetside truck...engine or not! Actually, I bought it without the motor since I have a surplus of motors already. The wife flipped out since that makes about 7 trucks so I had to promise to sell four of them asap. She has not seen the '74 Chevy van with sb 400 that has not been delivered yet! It will be a donor for one of the trucks since it has all the power options and 5 lug gear! Dennis...when are we going to have that work party? I just found a home for one of my rust free cabs!

It is dirty as heck but I will have it detailed in a couple of days and another engine in it. I will have '67 book ends...one fleet and one stepside! My only complaint is the leaf spring rearend!

At least the wife was willing to make a deal with you. I would be living in that truck if I brought it home unannounced. In my opinion your wife is a good woman.

WES, Small block 400, TH400 (or 350...have both), one of my rust free cabs, '67 front clip, shave the stake pockets, under bed tank, new wheels and tires, 4/6 drop and drive it for the summer.

Thanks for asking!

Yeah...my son wanted to ge the sb400 in there and get it on the road but he has to finish his VW truck before we start on the GMC! It would have been fun to drive it to the meet however!

Seriously...I would have gotten away with it if my daughter had not mentioned it to my wife and insisted that she look at it closely. Even then my wife thought it was my son's '77! She usually makes it pretty easy on me...and never goes into the back pasture to inspect the fleet! When the '74 van comes home I will put it into the pasture and she will never see it.

I had this in the back shop for over a year and she never went back there to see what was going on and never questioned one expenditure...LOL!
