Installing wheel bearings

After packing the wheel bearings, should you grease up the areas that come in contact with them before you install them? And should you "fill in" the remaining area with grease before you put in the seal, or is the bearing grease enough?
Disc brakes, BTW.

yes , you should coat everthing with grease (between the two bearings) to keep it from rusting. all you need is a thin layer though.

I dunk the bearing in grease and work the bearing so i know it's coated inside and out, then I grease my finger and slide it around the area the bearing going to sit in. i think it's 20lbs of trq on the castle nut for it.
