Steering Column Question

New here, so I may be asking something already answered, but I would appreciate an opinion on...........

I plan on a billet steering wheel, and I have a tilt column. I am also in the process of putting in a B&M floor shifter. So, is there a replacement piece to get rid of the column collar that currently has the slot for the column shifter? I would like to have a clean look to the column. And, do I need to disable the column lock when in park & key off?

Thanks.

You would have to replace the whole column to get rid of the column shift as far as I know. I haven't pulled one apart in a LONG time though.

Here's what Swervin Ervin did on his. http://www.73-87.com/7387garage/inte...shiftlight.htm He also has the shifter you are going to install and this really turned out good.
