69 Cst
Have purchased a 69 CST 1/2 shortie with a stepside bed, the cab and front fenders had both upper and lower moldings and no moldings on the bed. Was the CST option available on the stepside or has the bed been changed. The options list on the glove box door has the Z84 option.

I have seen the lower trim on stepsides, but it was just a photo. It looked original to me, but I can't say for sure.

Acording to the GM papers, the trim was omited on step side CST trucks.
Post the model number (on glove box option sheet) and we can tell if it is a real stepside truck or if it was swapped out. Welcome to the board from central Ohio, this is THE place for info and ideas on these awsome trucks. You have any pictures by chance? |

Thanks for the reply Longhorn Man, don't have the model #. I was able to decipher most of the option codes but not the model #. The info tag on the glove box door is in bad shape. The truck is loaded. CST, 396, T400, PS, PB, A/C, bucket seats, tinted glass, Gauges w/Tach, etc. No pics yet as it's in pieces for a total nut and bolt resto. Is it possible the CST trim was only on the cab?

Not acording to the factory literature, however, there has been a few sightings of CST trucks with trim on both cab and step side beds, however, none were original trucks.
If that is in fact a factory short/fleet CST with a big block buckets and tach, you have a pretty rare bird that may bring in top dollar, but documentation would help 10 fold. Did the bed look original, as in paint or under laying coats of paint between the bed and cab match? How about the mounting bolts, did they look just as old on the bed as the cab? |

Mine had no mouldings on the sides. I added the fleetside box several years ago and didn't put on any mouldings. I've not seen any stepsides with side mouldings.
