71/72?

then I would say the frame is a 72 and the cab is a 71, or did they use these mirrors in 72 also?

nope, the mirror is a '67-'71 unit. '72's were glued to the glass ( guess I got beat to it)

'71 cab

Definitely a '71 cab with that hump in the metal for the mirror.

Yup, 71 was the only year for that raised portion on the cab for the mirror. All others were smooth there.

Does anyone know the reason for the 71 mirror placement "bump"? Does it really serve any purpose?

My '72 with a six has the same bracket. I haven't seen the tailpipe hanger on a V-8. The center located brake line was also unique to 72.

My 72 has that hanger also, it looks really bad with nothing there hanging from it. When I redo my exhaust, it'll come out in front of the rear tires, so I'll have to hack that bracket off.
