I was wondering if anyone knows if you can get a 15x10 w/ 295/50/15 tires on the rear of a stepside? I currently have 8" truck rallyes w/ 275/60/15s, and they sit a little inside the wheel arch, but they're pretty close to rubbing on the backside. I believe that the rallyes have 4" backspacing, so that pretty much tells me that it would be hard to fit a 10" wheel without it sticking out. Also, what is the most backspacing that anyone has been able to use?

The 295 is approximately 11-5/8 wide at the fattest part of the tire and the 275 is 10-3/4. This can vary slightly from manufacturer to manufacturer but should not be enough to make a big difference. Check both sides, since if you have lowered your truck and not changed the track bar, the rear end is slightly shifted to one side (toward the side the track bar is attached to the rear end. My '67 stepside is 11-3/4 inside the wheel well without cutting the inner lip off the fender so it is pretty much a net fit. I am running 275's on the rear and would not try to put more tire in there without a tub or some other sheet metal mods previously mentioned.

You're right - I lowered it 4" in the back, and it is shifted to one side. You know what else is crazy? I have an adjustable bar on there, but just never checked to see if it was sitting straight. lol

I'll get it all lined up, and then measure again. It looks like I'm probably going to have to stay with the 275/60s though.
