question about an Ebay auction

Hi All,

this link is for an ebay auction for a 1970 truck power steering gearbox, used. the price of the auction is now $132.00. Can someone tell me why this is so high??

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2461835058

What makes this so special?

I have no idea. Maybe it runs liquid gold in it? Must be super rare, or just people that don't have a clue. Just my 2 pennies.

Guess I better dig mine out of the garage and get it on there! Some people just don't know any better is the only way to figure it.

I thinking that if people are going to pay this kind of money, I can pull several of these from some local yards for $20.00 each and sell them on Ebay myself.....

I love it when stuff sells on ebay for way more than expected/ it should/it's worth... Good for the seller!

From all of the weird stuff we sell, all I can figure is that some people don't have access to particular things, or don't want to go find those deals.

Nartkers, is this yours? (Huge stab in the dark, the sellerID starts nart* and the location leads me to ask)

Hey, I wonder what a 73 up steering box would bring if it was listed as a quick ratio box for our trucks?

Anyone else notice that the latest bidder is a F%$D guy? That should help make some sense out of it. Also, the jack-ass who bid before them has "antique" in their name.

I know people who would buy cow sh!t because it's old. Who knows why they think it's so valuable, but the guy selling it is going to be happy.

A couple of newbies bidding on it, that's why the price got that high, they don't know that the last minute is when the most action takes place but I doubt it'll happen on this auction, price is high already and there's still 2 days left.

core value on those is between 75.00 and 175.00+ I sold a ps gear box on Ebay for 125.00. If you don't have one to use as a core and want to put power steering on your ride it doubles the cost.

as a plus it has the pitman arm... good luck finding that at your local Autozone.

or it could be one of his pals driving the price up.

You got to love E-Bay. Check this one out. You to can get an auto crossmember for $91. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...EBWA%3AIT&rd=1 Sometimes you got to wonder about folks. I guess some don't take the time to look and price items locally. If you don't know the price/availability of parts it can be easy to "over bid".
