Some loot
jacquesdean kindly brought up some parts for me on sunday. Great guy, I highly recommend doing buisness with him.
Here's the bed and epoxy painted rolling frame he brought up for me. The frame goes under the wife's 1/2 ton and the bed goes on my 4x4. Right now I'm really cranked about getting the wife's truck done, this frame puts me way ahead.

The AL rims were part of the purchase price, I'm not sure if I want to use them or not. I saw some nice chrome steel rims at the local tire shop and may buy a set of those. So I may be selling these.
Free towbar! Jacques wasnt worried about getting it back and said he could always weld up a new one so that was cool. Jacques was actually really cool, I came to pick things up with a friends truck and was kind of unprepared, no trailer light hookup, wrong size trailer ball, Jacques wired up the lights and gave me the ball off of his truck. Great guy! I need a GMC tailgate more than the chev one so that may get traded, or I might keep it if I take off (in the future) the flatbed I'm putting on the chev. Tried to itemize what needs to be done on the chev, lots to do, hopefully it'll be on the road this year. Ron

Jamie72: I can't wait to finish (or start) work on the 4x4, I'm thinking about just putting the 350 I've got in it and driving it as is. I could almost get it roadable in a weekend or two of hard work, throw a splash coat of black on and drive it for this year. :p Ron

Cabby
At first glance I thought it should have been entitled. "Dude...someone stole my cab"! But now see otherwise.
How did that trailer.... OK ? I am thinking of buying a frame from a guy on the board and a friend suggested that we trailer it home rather than the way you have done. Any problems with it wondering around on the highway behind the tow vehicle. Please let me know.

It wasn't really difficult to trailer, but then again i only hauled it about 2 hours north of where Jacques was. I was lucky that most of the turns that I had to make were either gradual or less than 90 degrees. When I got close to home I had to make a couple of tight turns and each time the front wheels on the frame decided to go in another direction, I had to stop each time and straighten them out. Other than that I never really noticed that it was there, it didn't wander at all.

I paid $500US for the painted frame (72 w/front disk brakes), long box, and AL rims. And paid $250US for the tailgate, headers and hood. Plus I also paid duty/tax which was $80CAD.
Just as a comparision last year I paid $700CAD(~$520US) for a california 68 frame, no wheels/rims and no disk brakes, from a local company. Ron
