Dome Light. Door Pins - Triggers
MY DOME LIGHT WORKS GREAT BY TURNING THE KNOB BUT WONT COME ON BY THE DOOR PINS...BEFORE I BUST OUT THE OLD VOLT METER IS THERE SOMETHING SIMPLE IT COULD BE ? DOESNT THE WIRES COME OFF THE DOOR PINS AND TIE RIGHT INTO THE DOME LIGHT WIRING OR DOES THE PIN WIRES GO TO THE LIGHT SWITCH ?

All the pins do is connect to a ground. My first guess is corrosion on the contacts. With the door open try turning the inner post back and forth. If that doesn't fix it then start tracing the white wires.

Try taking the door pins out, remove the wire from them and touch it to a good ground, that will tell you for sure if they are the problem

MOST likely both door switches didn't fail....look for the white wires down by the fusebox and make sure the wire is not broken/unplugged.

69 was the first year for the option.
RICHARD MORGAN, I agree that it is not likely that they both went bad at the same time...have you in fact looked to see that your truck is equipped? I only ask becouse i knew a dude with a 67 and he was going nuts trying to figure why the light wouldn't come on, turnd out there was no switch available. |
