just wanted to know if any one has used herculiner or have any do it yourslef bed liners they`ve had good results from

I'm not a big fan of them but they look good if done right, If you don't prepare the box properly, they will peel

I used Herculiner in a pick up I used to have. I liked it. Take your time in preping the bed correctly. The first coat will look like crap but after you roll on the second coat it looks good. They also have a clear coat to prevent UV fading which I would recommend getting because it does fade.

I've used it before on my old Blazer tub and turned out nice. My main purpose was waterproofing and to prevent rust. Covered it with new carpet so couldn't really tell it was there. I plan on using it again on Blazer and truck cab floors but not sure I'd do a pickup bed with it. Would probably opt for a more durable spray liner for that.

Here are some pics of my blazer. We did the whole tub and floorboards and the inside of the tailgate with Herculiner. I think it looks good. We are also going to be putting in some closed cell sound deadner foam, and then the carpeting.

i used the duplicor on the interior of my 82 jimmy. i liked it better than the herculiner for the simple fact that it looked better and didn't have the big chunks like herculiner...........just my .02$

For you guys that did the DIY bed liners a while back, how are they holding up and how do they look? I've done a little reading on this and it sounds like most folks don't like them, but I'm thinking that if you do the prep work, they ought to be OK. Sure, not as nice looking or as durable as a $400-$600 (which is what they run around here!) professional. I can live without top of line, as long as it looks decent, and I can save $200+. If I hit the lottery though I'll go with Line-X - they look great!

I used it on a pickup bed a couple years ago, its holding up well on the sides but comes off the bottom, I guess the sun got to it. Brian

Did mine with Herculiner and it simply didn't work, could easily have been my problem though.

I paid a guy to soda-blast the bed (should have sand blasted it), bought a spray gun, hooked up to the compressor and did the job as stated on the can. I even bought some extra.

It started to peel in about a week and looks like crap now.

I asked this same question a few years ago and was warned by several people to pay to have it done right and I wish I had listened. IMHO its way more brittle than the "factory" install stuff.

Again, it could have been the way I put the stuff on, but I need to pay someone to sand blast all of the crap out and have a Rhino liner or something put in instead.

a guy at my work used the Herculiner several years ago. it's about half gone now. it looks like the rain has beat it off. i don't think he sanded the bed well enough cause when he was doing it he said he didn't want to have to sand the bed.

i had a LineX done in my Toyota and love it. it's damn tough... had shovels in it, lawn areators and everthing. when it was 2 days old a gallon of gas spilled in it and slushed around for 1/2 hour on the ride home, i sprayed it out with the water hose with no damage at all, not even discoloration!
of course the linex have gotten more expensive, i had mine done in '02 for $375, got an estimate done for a new truck the other day and it was $515.

I have never seen a diy bedliner hold up to very much use.

I had a rhino put in me 3/4 ton when new in 2000 and it has been great.
Yes it has fadded just a little not very much, but tough and withstood metal fence posts, battery acid etc.

Very happy with the rhino liner.
