Drum to Disc
Was talking to a guy at the local autoparts store about drum to disc conversions.
He said that they were making a rotor that didn't require a spindle change for our model trucks. Anybody heard anything about this? Jim Mt Juliet |

Those kits have been around a long time, they use a set of bearings and races that allow you to use the smaller car rotor with a 4 3/4" bolt pattern and come with plates that bolt to the stock spindles to atach the calipers with. The obvious downfall of the system is how safe do you feel trusting yourself to stopping your truck weighing 2 tons for disc brakes that were designed for cars weighing 1-1 1/2 tons.
We only supply the kits specifically made for trucks with 12" rotors with a 5 on 5" pattern, or 6 on 5 1/2" pattern. If interested you can find our kits here that use either our stock height disc conversion spindle, or drop spindle. http://www.gmcpauls.com/Brakes&Steering.htm GMCPaul |
