i need to buy some sheetmetal stock to make repair patches for firewall and other misc. areas.What gauge do i want to buy?I'm gonna have to make a few 45 degree bends on a few pieces so must be thin enough to work with...

I'd say somewhere between a 24-26 guage steel.

Same subject--- How about for kick panel repair and filling in door speaker holes?

It varies but my bed is .060 (16 ga.) and other parts like the cowl are .030 (22 ga.) It might be that some parts have been stretched out a bit in forming so may be a little thinner where you measure them. I haven't found anything thinner however.

BTW the floor on my '67 is 0.60 (16 ga.)...except where it is rusted out...LMAO!
