Use a press or a large bench vice. There are also things that look like a big C clamp designed for pressing apart U-Joints.

If you have not done it before, look for a friend who has to help you out.

Remember to mark the relationship of the pieces before taking it apart so that you can put it back as it was to avoid vibration issues. I usuallyjust use a can of spray paint and draw a line down one side. Then I know the parts line up on the stripe.

RAT... the cover was perfect Thanks!! the pulleys and water pump worked out great too..ill attach a pic of them installed. ...Now back to the question at hand, so basically im going to have to remove the entire driveshaft and bring it to the bench vice, there is no way to just seperate the front from the back with it still under the pickup??

It's easier if you take it out first, & you gotta take it out anyway, right?
