broken oil pressure sending unit help
My oil pressure gauge has been on the blink. Seems ok at startup, but will then drop. I tap the gauge itself and it comes back up. So I figure it's probably just a loose connection, but I want a mechanical gauge so i know what's really going on.
I try to unscrew the fitting and it snaps off with the threads still in the manifold. I figure I'm screwed and have to take off the manifold and drill out the old fitting. Is this my only option?

That fitting is threaded into the block not the manifold if you have a SB Chevy. I would remove the distributor to give you more room to work and try an easy out, but be gentle so not to snap the easy out also.

OUCH!
I was afraid of that. No good deed goes unpunished. Can i use WD-40 or PB blaster now that the oiling system is "open"?

if you were going to use WD-40 to help loosen it up id go with Mystery Oil instead, let it sit on it for awhile and it will work its self in to the threads and hopefully loosen it up, also works great to help unsieze lawn mower engines HAHAHAHA

Thanks for all the replies.
The mystery oil stuff is a good idea.
