Ashtray difference between 67-68
On my 67 the ashtray is hard to remove and slightly lighter. On my 68 it removes easily(thanks to the ball bearings.67 has none) and is sturdier feeling. Also the fuse boxes are different. Is this right on both accounts?

Warbones
Yes there are two different types of ash-tray slides, the ball bearing ones and the plastic ones. I am not sure what year the change was made. My 71 has the plastic slides. These are interchangeable though you will need to remove the tray and the receiver in order to do the swap. I thought that the 67 had a different front on the tray but I could be wrong on this line of thought. The only differences for the fuse box that I am aware of is when the change in E-Brake assembly's came about. The fuse box was moved to a different location on the firewall in order to allow more room for the foot operated pedal. As always feel free to correct me if I am incorrect on these items.

The 67 ashtray and bracket is it's own animal. It is slightly different in appearance. Another reason why 67's are so
Disclaimer: I'm sure someone has a 67 with the later style ashtray. This is GM, so entirely possible and likely.

That's a 68-69. I believe the '70s are same as 71/72. If not, 68-70. I could go out in the morning and check if no one has it for you.

Re: Ashtray difference between 67-68
The one in my garage that doesn't fit my 67 has what look to be 11/32" ball bearings.

Re: Ashtray difference between 67-68
My 67 C10 came without factory A/C. My ash tray has plastic slides on the side and works fine, but the frame is spot welding in place. I was told by a retired GM field rep who was into the older C10's who told me there were two part number for the entire dash. The same was true with the bulkhead or firewall. One for A/C, and one without. If it was ordered with factory A/C, the ash tray with ball bearings could be an explanation as a bolt in frame may have to removed for service. I have seen online catalogs, like LMC, showing the ash tray frame sold separate. Also, the 67 came standard with a small rear cab window, but the large window was an option. In 68, it became standard.
