Unhappy Thinkin about sellin

I have a 72 super 4x4 swb. I'm gettin married in may and really can't afford to do anything with the truck. I just bought and for the past month I have been driving it every day. All I have found out about the truck so far is this: Cab is not original, motor is a 283 out of a 66chevelle it has been rebuilt and runs strong. It could use a new carb. The four wheel drive does not work, either the gears or the hubs. I'm not really sure. And finally the trans leaks. Like I said I drive it everyday and I have put maybe one and half quarts in it . The body is in great shape very straight interior, bucket seats and tach dash, no ac. Truck drives straight and rides smooth. I know I don't have any pics now, but how much do guys think it's worth. I really like the truck and would love to keep it, but I'm tryin to do the responsible thing. Thanks guys.

sellin a '72?

I'm having a similar problem, only mine is to buy a house. I would rather part with a kidney than my '72 shorty.

I am going to try and finish my 72 this spring and I told my girlfriend that I would like to sell it so we could get married but she said that she does not want me to sell my truck. She Pretty Cool. I am just going to work my butt off this year and save as much as I can hopefuly I will have enough saved that we can get married and have a down payment on a house next year. If someone gave me a good offer the truck would be gone pretty Quick I kinda got a thing for a old Chevelle or Nova.

I would say trry and keep it. You need to have a toy if you sell it when would you ever get the cash for another one ?

Better buy all your toys before you get married. After that you will be saving for a house, kids, and just about anything else you can imagine.

If she says keep the truck keep it.You will need to have a well rounded life to be able to survive marriage OR for marriage to survive you.Thiss means keep your hobbies and most of your friends for when she does girls night out.Make sure she keeps hers too.
