The next customer resto begins - updated

It is a 72 GMC Jimmy, the body is out being painted right now and the frame is powdercoated a grayish color and the body will be a medium blue (sort of like a 2003 GMC), I will post more pics as time goes by.

That looks nice...Approx..How much does it cost for a customer to have something done like that? I am redoing my truck but I dont think I would go that far with it.

Thanks. Truck69

The Yellow one is a truck that we did several years ago, we are putting another motor (454) and trans in it because they are getting tired.

as far as price goes it can range quite a bit depending on what is wanted. He wants to stay under 60k and that will include body work/paint, smoothed top, a GM crate 383, rhino lining under the body and inside, TPI from street and peformance, new 700R4 mated to a npt205, custom billet grill made out of an NOS GMC grill, wheels and tires, powdercoating, rebuilding both difs w/ all new hardware, rebuilding the transfer, a whole lot of labor, and I am sure alot of other mods as time goes by.

I got tired of the other avatar, and figured I would try making an animated one from scratch this time.

If everything goes as planned about 8-12 months, the biggest factor is how long the body work will take.

Shawn where did you get the front end parts? I am looking for tie rod ends or drag links, it depends on which catalogue I am looking at. The ones I ned are on the bar that goes all the way across the axle.

Here is an update on the blazer we started a few months back, the body was prepped for aftermarket A/C and then painted 2003 GMC marine metallic blue. I will post some more pics when we get some more things done to it.

Ooooooh, that looks absolutely awesome.

Ha, if only my truck had a problem other than massive blowby, so I could justify driving out that way...

The color looks amazing. I think I might go for that in the distant future when I can actually afford to take my truck completely apart, blast it all clean, and repaint it.

I'm a sucker for blue.

we bought them at a local 4wd shop, they were originally polished but we painted them black and re-polished the ribs.

Credit where credit is due

I have to give Credit where Credit is Due, The body and the rest of it will be painted by "Orlando's" in Mesa Arizona. They have a first rate set up and put out some serious quality work (at a price a normal person can afford) - Yes that was a shameless plug, but he is good.

Good to know...I got kinda burned when I had Diamond auto body do my '70. They charge out the wazoo just to do the bed...and then when I come back a few years later (I think 3) and ask why the hell it's flaking out so badly it can't even be bedlined? They say it was just a courtesy coat.

Blue

We figured that by going w/ a factory color if something happens to it in the future the paint won't be a huge problem to find paint for it. And it worked out pretty easy since my truck is the same color he had a good idea of what it would look like before it was painted.
