Steering gear box

Does anyone know how hard it is to take a steering gear box apart? There is nothing wrong with it, i want to get it powder coated so I need to take it apart.

Having disassembled several steering boxes, I would deem it difficult but not impossible. Reloading the recirculating balls is tricky. I would recommend getting a good set of instructions with pictures if you decide to attempt it.

I have decided not to rebuild any more if I have a problem with one. A good used one saves a lot of work!
