lifting a diesel
I am wanting to lift my '82 GMC which has a 6.2l diesel in it. I need a good set of front springs that are going to take the load. The diesel is about 300 lbs. heavier than a sbc I think. So I need a spring that will take the weight and give me a 4" lift. Anybody got any suggestions?
Thanks

Go with rough country springs they seem to have one of the highest spring rates. I also believe Rancho has high spring rates. Stay away from soft or ez ride springs. My 2" heavy duty tuff country springs netted about 3" of lift, you could try them (they have 2 and 4" HD springs).

you could probably just use the next size spring. ya know if its a half ton, use a 3/4 ton lift spring, if a 3/4 ton usea 1 ton leafs.

I have a '72 K10 that's getting a 454. I ordered a 4" lift kit from Superlift with Heavy Duty front springs designed specifically for a Big Block or Diesel truck. I bought mine on ebay from Davy1445.
