Got the shop framed today
Got my new shop framed up today
It is 20' wide and 53' deep, with covered parking on the side that is 12' by 53'. It has 14' ceiling height, 2x6 framed construction, with and 18' x 8' bay door opening. Now for the roofing and stucco

Sweet, I like that ! Nothing more exciting than a new shop going up. What type of roofing will be used?

That's a unique design, how about some more pics? What type of garage door are you using? I ask because it looks like a track type door might not have enough room on the left side. Just curious, but I do like the design of it, looks good.

No there is not enough room for a roll up door. The doors I have drawn up for it are steel framed doors with a wood panel insert. They are actually a pair of bi-fold doors, kind of like a closet door except huge and heavy. As soon as I get the roofing on I will start making the doors.
As far as pushing non running projects in and out I also have a 1948 Ford 8N tractor that I use to push my boat, trailers, dead cars, trees, rocks, anywhere I want them. It has a low gear that is so low that, under a strain, you can let out the clutch with the engine idling and it will remain running and start to wind up until a) the object moves b) the tire dig a trench 3' deep, or c) you flip the darn thing upside down, (fortunately the latter has never happened to me). BTW That is me hidden behind the tree, and my work truck off to the right. Oh, and the roof over the covered parking is not on yet. I will probobly put that up over the summer.

Ah, now the door design makes sense. From the first pic, it looks like a very crooked door frame Great looking shop!! makes me gren with envy

The design was done by a friend of mine who is an architect. I gave him my needs and ideas and he came up with the drawings. He also designed my guest house, although I have not started on that yet. My camera does not do the building justice. I goes very well with the style of the house and fits in with our lot and landscape. I will post more pics when I get some roofing and wall finish on it.
