Anyone running 38.5-39.5" tires on 5"?
Cause i'm planning on doing it. Getting a 14BFF soon for the rear and will be saving up for the D60. I got 4" of lift right now but will be getting another 1-2" of lift through a 1" ORD Body lift and possibly a set of zero rates. Will probably keep it to 5" though to keep COG low as possible.

I know there is one guy there running 40's on a 4" lift. I'm gonna have to wait till I get me a D60 though. Right now all i'll have for awhile is D44/14BFF so i'm not gonna spend too much money on it and just run some 35s with no locker and hope I don't break to many parts.

Rene has 4" and 39.5s on his K5. Tim has a 60, a set of 6" leaf springs, and an ORD Zero Rate on teh front of his truck (which should be about 8" of lift, and an Echobit shackle flip for 6" out back. he's running wide 38.5 TSLs on it. when he adds the winch bumper, it should bring the nose back down a little bit. fenders are hacked pretty good though. i dunno if i'd do that to a truck as nice as yours.

Only thing nice about my truck is the sheetmetal, and the paint is crap. It peels very easy and its already got little dings and stuff all over. I would rather have fun than worry over denting it up.
But anyway, I forgot that D60s give an extra inch in the front, so i'll probably need a zero rate under the rear springs to keep it level, and then a 1" body lift. And I dunno, I may just stop at 35" tires. Who knows I haven't really decided yet.

For the big meats, get out the sawzall. My suburban has the rubbing problem on the front side of the rear wheel wheels. I've got 6" of lift and cut like 2" to nothing going up on the rear and I still rub with 35's. Maybe this is because I tuck my tires 4" up in the wells, and I'm sure suburbans aren't supposed to do that. For a side note, I'm running D44/12bolt with detroits front and rear on 4.10's with no problems, and I wheel the hell out of this thing. Only one broken passenger side front shaft.

38s on 8"
I've jacked my truck up to 8" overall and am running 38x15x15 Swampers on 10" rims. I had to chop off the "fangs" on the front of the front fenders. Of course I'm assuming this is a 67-72 otherwise this won't apply to you. Anyways it doesn't look to bad at all. I'll be posting a pic soon. As for a similar or bigger size tire on 5", you'll have to do a lot of cutting, but you can definately make it work, just stock up on the sawsall blades! I've seen a guy with a 72 blazer on wide 35" boggers with no lift. It wasn't pretty and he said it still rubbed sometimes, but it goes to show what you can do for cheap with a Sawsall!
