looking to put a front line lock in my brake system. Anybody done this before? Is it worth buying a kit, or can it be done with just common brake parts? i like cooking tire, so to me this would be worht it. thanx guyz. any input is appreciated.

I have never done it before. But I have seen them work at the local drag strip. BIG clouds of smoke.

BIG FUN!

It makes burnouts a lot easier. You are not overcoming the rear brakes. This also reduces wear on the gearbox.

I fitted an electric one in the front brakes. If you have discs you have to blank one line from the prop valve. Run the other line to the linelock and then tee it to the front brakes.

I see a lot of manual valves fitted in the rear brake lines. This is just a ball valve that you can turn and stop pressure to the rear brakes. This is a simpler way of doing things but you have to run the rear line where you can reach it. Also you have to remember to turn it back again afterwards.

I run linelocks and have for lots of years.. When I was Younger They were terrific for "Smokin Em" Now I just appreciate them for the uphill stops, Or even the Down hill. (With sticks that is) And it's just another gadget... I like gadgets. OH yea,, For that occassional Off the line fast thing,,,, They work for that too.. So are they worth it??? That just depends on whether or not you want one.. Like a lot of other things we use..

i live in PA and im 99% sure they are illegal here. however i am 17 and will burn em on anything that will do it. lol is there any type of these i can easily remove when inspection time comes around?

I live in Pa. and used to have a car with a line lock, never had if fail inspection because of it, however, that was back in the 80s . . . LOL

They are quite fun. I have one on my Camaro to use when I go drag racing.

Tonight I was with a group of guys and they asked me to do a burnout. I usually turn them down but I guess my mood was right. Pumped the brakes, pushed in my button and boiled them down.

Gets expensice buying tires
