Looking for 2" Leaf drop springs

I've searched on the best way to lower my R10 and have found the comprehensive lowering thread but cant seem to find any info on 2" drop leaf springs other than some people mentioning using them. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

The only drop leaves have seen were 4 inch. Most people use shackles to drop their stock leaves 2 inches. They don't cost as much as springs, either.

4" eh? Well that could work, who sell 'em? Where? I'd rather swap on a set of springs. I'd probably rather have 4"'s anyway.

I also bought Western Chassis drop spindles at the same time. I am really happy with them. I have not installed the springs yet, so I can't comment on them. They are from Western Chassis as well.

if you want 2" of drop, but dont want to lose your ride, or load capacity, you might look into a set of drop shackles.

Thanks for the link.

Will the 4" spings affect handling in a negative way? I am doing this mainly cause I'd like a liittle more control throwing my rig into the turns. Its a SWB so load capacity is not a big concern just want a little better handling. So would the 2" shackle be the way to go in any of your guys oppinion?

I doubt it would do anything but improve the handling by lowering the center of gravity. After I dropped the front of my truck I noticed an immediate improvement in handling.

Shackles are cheaper, but only give you 2 inches of drop. You can get 4 inches of drop with shackles and hangers, and it will be cheaper than new springs. Of course, if you go with springs, you get new springs.

I chose to go with springs because I did not want to cut my bed, which the shackles require you to do.

I also have tennis elbow, which makes it hard to swing a hammer, so I did not want to do hangers. To use them, you must chisel /hammer/grind out the rivets that hold the old ones to the frame. The new ones bolt in their place.

The last reason for me was that my truck has heavy duty rear springs, which give it a rough ride. I don't need the extra capacity they provide, so this allows me to get the light duty drop springs to replace them.

It all depends on your goal, and how much money you want to spend.

EDIT: Another consideration is what you plan to do with the front. From the factory, the trucks are 2 inches higher in the back than the front. If you go with just shackles, your truck will sit level. If you go with 4 inch drop springs, you'll need to lower the front as well, or it will sit 2 inches lower in the back than it does in the front.

I cannot remember which ones I have. They are either 1 or 2". I got them from Godfather Customs. www.godfathercustoms.com

But honestly if I were to do it again, I would go with the flip kit.
