Junkyard Finds!!

This weekend I went to a junkyard in Ashland Wi with a few friends of mine and he's got three nice '72's sitting there.
1. '72 Blazer CST. Loaded to the top with options. Complete factory cruise control, front factory tow hooks, all spare tire equipment is there behind the back seat, jack, handle, spare tire bracket, A/C, mint condition rear panels, mint lift gate, perfect center console, both front buckets are beautiful yet, as is the back seat, the drivers side has on tear, all hubcaps are there, running 350/350./205 combo, gas tank skid plate, no tach dash just gauges, single wall top with all the dome lights in it yet, AM radio, original speaker is still hangin under the heater control. Body is rusty and has no title for it. $1000
2. '72 GMC Sierra custom suburban, 4x4 1/2 ton, cargo doors, has all the stainless headliner bows in tact yet. no motor, trans, t-case. was auto tranny, 350 motor. Some glass is missing, woodgrain door panels all in good condition, dummy light dash, no a/c. defiately savable yet. Don't know price on it though.
3. '72 Chevy c-10 custom deluxe, a/c, Highlander interior package, good seat yet, only one or two tears in the plaid part. no motor, tranny, was 350/TH350 truck. some useable trim on it yet too. Don't know price on any of it, decided not to ask incase he knows there's interest on it.
The place is called Beyond Repair Salvage or something like that. He said there was already someone interested in the Blazer but no money has changed hands on it yet. SO it's still up for sale and he won't part it out. Hope someone on here gets these trucks so they are in good hands.

Sounds to me like anyone with $1000 could part that blazer out and make some money.

That '72 pickup thats in the yard there has the original step bumper from the dealer on it yet too, no dents, and only surfece rust in a couple spots. Its one of those that says the name of the dealer and town it's located at, might be kinda cool to have if your truck actually came from there.

Someone beat me to it, My buddy Sakohntr drove over there today to look at it for me but another board member had already bought it sight unseen. Atleast someone from the board is going to get some parts off it.

Sorry Randy

After talking to the mechanic and owner, I found out this truck is a 1 owner (older gentleman). The truck only has 66,000 original miles, thus the reason for the perfect interior. The truck is truely un-molested. Every component is there and original, nothing missing right down to the heat riser on the air cleaner. It was used only as a winter vehicle for the past 22 years, until a year and a half ago when he parked it because it needs brake and fuel lines (they rusted). It will start and run fine (except for a puff of blue smoke at start-up- valve seals). It has 373 posi, cruise that works, A/C that worked, tow hooks, CST equipement package, skid plates, etc.

My plans are to replace all brake lines, wheel cyl, master cyl, tires and fuel lines. I need to remove the fuel tank and boil out or replace. I will be doing the necessary paper work to title the truck, then drive it as a winter beater. Next spring I'll park it and start looking for a rust free tub and other sheet metal to put this truck back to it's former glory as a high optioned CST Blazer.

Glad to hear someone got it. I wanted to get it but my Dad wouldn't let me bring another home. Good luck on the project.
