Brake Drum making scraping noise
I adjusted the brakes today and after I was done I noticed that the pass side is making a scraping noise. I am not sure if it was there before I started. Did I adjust to far?
Thanks

If the drums are true and not warped you probably adjusted them too far. I always make adjustments so the shoes are close but not scraping and then drive in reverse and apply the brakes and the self adjusters do the final adjusting

Did you pull the drum and inspect before you adjusted?Nothing like adjusting out a worn out shoe.

Brake Noise
Since you have not replaced your brakes, my reply is not your problem. However if you do replace the shoes, pay attention to the springs and the rod that goes thru the spring. Some one help mw with the proper name for the spring and rod. If you buy a brake spring kit from local auto parts store, it will most likely come with sprongs and rods for 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton brakes. If you install the 3/4 ton rods on 1/2 ton brake shoes, the ends of the rods will rub the drums. This noise is hard to find untill you have been there and done it.
