My neighbor tried his 4wd, but wound up getting his tractor to pull both trucks out.

You also need to finish building your road. Y'all only did half the job, now go haul some rock so y'all don't get stuck again.

Was your cell phone in there somewhere Krue?

Oh how much fun it is to misjudge the mud. Glad you had a tractor handy.

Kind of hard to belive YOU of all folks would think a DODGE could actually get you somewhere!

Ah, the joys of a one-legger 2wd in mud. One of the more embarrasing times in my truck was when i got stuck in wet grass that turned into mud behind my house. At the time i had ultra-cheap 235/75-15 tires on my truck, and got it into about six inches of goo. Couldn't get it pulled out. The next day i had a buddy pull me out with a f@rd....all it took was a quick tug in 4-lo

Anyway, i do have a very old, but well running tractor for this sort of thing....'52 Ford 8N. Usually works for yanking whatever around, chopping down brush and small trees, even pops a wheelie every now and then

Great little tractor. Only good thing the Blue oval ever made....too bad chevy never made a tractor.....

I know someone is curious....go ahead....ask him what the "phone story" is.....

Just tell her you need the tractor to spread gravel on the driveway to keep from getting stuck again. Oh btw, how many pieces was that phone in? A "gajillion" or something like that?

Or that you need a tractor to pull out all of your DODGE driving buddies. Go for the 'community service' angle. It will service the community.....yeah, that's it....

Yup, the first thing I noticed was no locking hubs on the front. I'm fortunate like you, If I were to get stuck I think it would take about 5 seconds for some guys to come along just dying to pull me out (and laugh at me at the same time)

Which one won, the IH or the deere?

I personally really prefer the wide front tractors.

Looks like that GMC could use some better mud tires on the back!

The '70 is an open rear, but had grip tires on the back when we got it, it could do an alright job in soft stuff. Not as good as the scout with its track lock rear and 4x4, but still alright. I know of people with superduty ford 4x4s that've gotten stuck on grass. One of them got stuck on a hill. He tried to go up this very slight hill on grass, started spinning, went to back down it and was stuck!

I'd like to think that with the duals the 1310 might be ok... but as heavy as that truck will be (8k lbs dry), that thing will be "fun" to get out if it ever gets stuck.

Just remembered one time when we went camping in the boy scouts. We got up Sunday morning and it was raining, we were camped in a river valley. We had an old flathead Ford school bus, which they got stuck. One of our leaders went to the farmer, his tractor was in use pulling someone else out. Borrowed his pickup, which got stuck. So we were then pushing the bus and the pickup, must have been about 15 of us. Farmer finally came with the tractor, about the size of an 8N, which helped until we got to a short hill. First we pushed the tractor up the hill, it didn't need much help. Then we pushed the pickup up the hill far enough to hook onto the tractor. Finally we pushed that dang bus far enough to hook onto the tractor, which still needed help getting the bus pulled up the hill. And we were having trouble staying on our feet, that mud was so slick.

To top it all off, when I got home I got yelled at by mom for getting so muddy. To bad she didn't see me before the rain washed most of it off me.

Is your bro's Farmall an M or an H? I can't tell if the battery box is on the side or not.

Story: when the old widowed farmer's wife sold us our M, she sold it very cheap because she didn't like the tractor. I guess way back in the 60's, the husband was plowing a field and caught a really big rock, and the tractor popped a wheelie and threw him off. luckily the tractor didnt fall on him, but she said that since then, they parked it in the back of the barn and only ran it when they absolutely needed it, they just used their newer Fords and Farmalls instead. From what she said, she made it sound like it was the tractor equivalent to "Christine." one man's junk is another man's treasure, I guess

Another story: last weekend I went to a farm auction with my dad, and they auctioned off a very nice wide front Super M and a very nice narrow front MD, as well as 7 Fordson's and 2 New Holland Combines. When the temperature came back above freezing, the cornfield where everyone parked turned into a mud pit and almost everyone got stuck. the 2 guys that bought the farmalls had a great time, they were pulling everybody out. it was pretty neat to watch. of course, my dad's F150, that will get stuck on wet grass, made it thru the pit in 2wd
