door panel choices

I am having a hard time narrowing down my door panel choices and i am hoping you guys can help me out. I have 3 choices as i see it.

#1 is a custom door panel made with tweed basicly flat with an arm rest
#2 the stock 1970 vinyl over metal skins.
#3 changing my regulators and using the stock 72 abs door panels.

Also are there any of the reproductions i should stay away from? What i would like to see is some pictures of your trucks with these installed.
What are your favorite door panels? My truck is flame red and i want to go with black or houndstooth tweed. the seat is a 68 bench bucket with the arm rest and it is vinyl with houndstooth on the part you sit on. Thanks for helping me out.

I like the 72 panels myself. I have heard the repros are not very good, but most board members do not charge much for a decent used set anyway. Might be some issues getting the 72's to fit on a 67-71 door but I have not tried yet so its up to others to fill you in on this part. I say go for a set of 72's, but it is your choice...buy what you like

Kevin
Heavy d is right about issues, but they are not big issues.
I had to pull the window crank and door handle protrusions off a 72 to put on my 68.
I found a nice pair of black 72 panels from a 72 GMC. Sprayed them with Seymour black vinyl and fabric paint.
From another truck (72 Grand Sierra) I took the stainlees trim piece from the woodgrain type panel, put it on the black plastic panels, fit perfect and it was a "little custom"
Just a thought

Would like to see pics of 72 panels with the top chrome strip installed.
Did the window ,door latch, and door handle holes still line up?
Also curious about bottom of door panel installation then.
Thanks

Solver- no problem with the holes lining up. I will try to take a picture tomorow- the dig camera has a small problem tho, retard operator. Maybe I'll ask my teenage daughter to take the pix.
Kevin- I don't remember any issues with the bottom of the door panel, but that was almost two years ago. I will try to think about it.

I put 72 panels on my 67. you need to install the longer door and window regulators, the 67-71 are too short. I had a donor truck so it wasnt a problem. Everything else lines up perfectly, even the armrest holes. I drilled 4 screw holes in the edges and painted the screws black....looks factory to me!! Mine do have the crome inserts and i was thinking about buying the wood inserts until i found them in LMC truck for $120!!!
