Rear Sway Bar?
Just wondering if there is a rear sway bar from other vehicles that we can use on our trucks?

hrmm, dunno about a rear we can use, but I know you can snap them off '73+ trucks for the front.
If you really want a rear sway (and you have rear coils) performance suspension sells one for about $135 its a bolt on application, no drilling, and its a really beefy bar. I have one, but you know, I don't even have control arms on my truck right now so I haven't really used it to give ya a feedback on quality or aynthing lol maybe in a year or more :P ------------------ Projects Belair '71 C10 LWB to SWB conversion:C10 project page 65Chevelle pics coming soon |

I think I may have a factory REAR SWAY BAR for our trucks???? It appears to mount with the u-bolts on a coil spring rear. it is in that angle anyway, and appears to be proper size, I was planning on trying it for fit when I get to that point in the building... there are not any sort of mounts with it just a bar, but...I don't even remember where I came up with this way bar...I'll let ya'll know... what about trying a nascar style. search for a Speedway catalog. They sell stock car racing type stuff. It should work, b/c a lot of the small time racers use our rear suspension.

I bought an aftermarket rear sway bar from Performance Suspension Components. It worked go for a while until one of the mounts FELL OFF. Now I am going to make my one brakets and mount them directly to the trailing arms.

I took one off a 89 Camaro and put it on my truck. I should have a write up about it on my website. Fits great, people tell me it almost looks like something GM would have made.

67-72 did not have factory or dealer avaialble rear bars, front bars off big cars are good to use, as they are wider than front truck bars are and that is a good thing to have in the rear, U bolts are how factory usually attaches rear bars to rear axles, butr they usually use end links, fabhbing up ends is hardest deal to do

Im not sure of any originality...
Im just saying it looks suspiciously close. I wish I had a digi-cam, its kinda eerie....here,...i'll try a sketch a pic... -------------------- \ / \ / ...but has slight inward bend in back cross bar in middle.... it appears just the right width and everything... I have not yet tried, its still lying in one of my parts trucks out at a friend farm just minutes from the house, but, when i get it back here, i'll let you know if it even fits....
