Got my heads today
I jsut got my Dart Iron Eagle heads. I'm kind of disappointed though. They don't have steam holes for my 400. So I have to wait until monday when the machine shop opens up toget them drilled. They are cool lookin though. They have Dart raised on the side next to the exhaust ports. Huge valves. I wanted 215cc intakes, but couldn't get that with a hydraulic valve springs. So I had to back down to 200cc intakes. 72cc chambers. Also got Billet Specialties wire loomes, roller tipped rockers, and a bunch of other stuff. Too bad I can't put it together yet

I can't remember the depth, but you can drill the steam holes yourself. just use the gasket as a template.

Yeah, i've had a few people tell me they've drilled them before. each head is supposed to have 6 holes. The sheet with the heads say 3 holes ahve to be straight and 3 holes at a 30 degree angle. I just can't see spending 1000 buck on a set of heads then pickin up a drill and drillin the **** out of them. I wanna get them on this weekend, but I can wait.

Point taken. I was unaware of the 30 degree thing. Nice heads for $1000.

Also, when I take the plunge into aftermarket heads, and have to get the steam holes drilled, I'm going to have a written agreement with the shop that drills the holes, if they break em, they buy me a new set. (some of the holes are awfully close to the intake ports).
Just something to think about. TJ
