Question Disk brake swap

Will a front end from a 71 fit under a 64? Are the rear ends the same width? My neighbor wants to change his 6-lug to 5-lug with disc brakes and I have everything from a 71. If so, how much trouble will it be?

I believe it will fit just fine. I know the rearends are the same from 60-72, so I'm thinking the 71 front should swap under it fairly easily. I'm sure someone has more input on this, but I'm just rambling :p

The disc brake conversion isn't that hard, make sure you check to see if the spindles will fit (they should) and use new upper and lower ball joints and don't forget to have the front end aligned when finished. Good luck and keep on truckin'!-----Jerry
