Where exactly does this go ?

I had ordered a few column parts and this was sent to me as well. I am not sure where it goes.

It goes around the column where it passes through the firewall. Keeps the outside, outiside of the truck and the inside, inside the truck.

It seals the column to the firewall. It slips over the lower part of the column, theip slips into the opening of the firewall. It is very breezy and damp without it (Ask me how I know )

I have the rubber boot as well.........same thing or do the work together ?.

Have never seen that piece in any install i have done.
Wou;ld like to know also
The piece he is showing is not the rubber boot(grommet) down on the firewall

I have the rubber boot, this piece is just flat foam piece that was sent along with it.
