1967 C Series Chevy Truck for sale!!! (New oversized pics)
Got a 1967 RWD Wood bed Chevy truck that's gotta go!
250CI Straight 6, 4 speed (granny gear) Starts, runs well, drives ok (from what I can tell, I never go more than a mile in it). I currently use it as a property truck to move some stuff around the yard. I was going to restore it but never found the time. It's a no-frills truck. No power steering, no power brakes. Frame is great, everything works, additional springs installed in rear. Wood bed is rough, cab needs work. All electrical parts seem to work. (directionals, heater fan, wipers, etc). Was going to donate it before 12/31 before the new tax law went into effect but decided that it would be a waste as someone here might actually restore and enjoy it. If anyone is interested, email me and I'll send you a picture. I cannot deliver this truck so it will need to be picked up. Any realistic offer will be considered. Also, this truck currently does not have a title, as they are not required in NH. If a title is needed, I can have a search done but it'll take a bit of time. The truck is in Rochester NH. That is a 69 or 70 model. Or a 1967 with a 69-70 front clip.

Front clip may well have been replaced.
For all I know, it could be a different year, but it was last registered as a 1967. (this was in NH, which is known for housing morons at the DMV)
Vin # CCS142B104048 (can't find a decoder to give me the year) Also have this number on the plate in the glovebox: CS10704 From what I can tell, that means 1/2 ton, C10, Step-side 6.5ft bed. Doesn't help with year very much. Anyone have any ideas where I can find the year (either by VIN or searching elsewhere on the truck?) I was looking at Kelly blue book and that price was the middle range for a 1967 C10 shortbed Pickup, I6 4spd. Not what it's worth, but what I may have been able to write off if donated. |

The VIN # makes me want to believe that it's a 1972
Judging all of the decoders out there, it seems that the cab (at least) is a 1972.
Going by the 6th digit of the VIN, which is 2. I could be very wrong here... Would there be a VIN on the side of the block that I could grab? Anywhere else that I could locate the year? I could part this thing out, but I'd be more likely to just sell it locally to someone else wanting a property truck. I don't really have the time to strip it down. If over the next week or so, no one here ends up wanting it, I might stick it on ebay for a week. If I don't see someone there wanting to restore it (or take it to part it out for another resto), I'll put it at the end of the driveway with a for-sale sign on it. I'd really hate to see this truck stripped or parted out... The frame is good and the engine is still strong. I'd rather see someone move hay or stones around on thier farm with it as I do. Sean |

According to the code on your glove box door it is a 67. Of course the glove box door also could have been replaced with a different one. The sure way to tell is to decode the VIN plate on the cab. That is what the DMV will go by anyway. I wouldn't go by the block # either because that could easily have been switched at some point also.

VIN and asking price...
I would not go by Kelley Blue book... That was only referenced when I was thinking about donating it, as up until the end of last year, you could write off the blue book value for donations (up to $5000)...
As for the VIN, I couldn't find a Cab VIN plate, although I don't know where to look. I think the dash and glovebox is original... As for what my asking price is... I could do well if I put it at the end of the driveway... I don't really care so much about exactly how much I get... I'd rather get a little less $$$ and know that it's going to someone who will either restore it, or pull parts off of it to restore something else. I don't want to see it end up at a boneyard. If someone is interested, I say make me an offer... The body is in rough shape. Front fenders have some small rust holes, the cab has some bondo and the floor is pretty rough too... If I feel it's a decent offer, someone can have it |

The vin plate will be near the drivers side door jam. If it doesn't have a VIN plate on it you will have difficulty selling it. In essence it is probably only good as a parts truck without a VIN plate. That is of course unless someone has a spare VIN plate to rivet in there.

VIN Plate
When attempting to register it here in NH, they give you a form to bring to an inspection facility. They looked at the VIN on the glove box and signed the form.
That was good enough for the DMV here in NH, but I don't know if that is enough in other states. |

Is it currently registered and inspected? If not, when was it last on the road? Got any more pics? I've got all the pieces it may need right here and a shorty-flatbed may compliment the one ton nicely.

It is not currently registered.
I believe the last time it was registered / inspected was 2 years ago. I bought the truck about a year ago. I never went through w/ the registration process as it was never going to leave my property. If the seller needed, I could go and register it here first... Don't see how that would help all that much if it were to be registered in another state. |

Don`t think there`s a book quote for a peiced together truck,no offense. You`d have done well to donated for $5000.

Blue book.
Don't really care about what it's worth in a book...
Just curious if anyone here wants the truck. It's worth either what a running truck is worth, or what the parts are worth, and I don't want to strip the parts. |

Not that I believe it but...
Also might want to note that the odometer claims 51814 miles.
I know that this has probably turned over at least once... The seller swore to me (and put it in the bill of sale) that the odometer statement was true, but I'm not sure if NH actually has tough odometer statement laws. |

I'd rather you set the price and go from there. If it's within reason I may be interested. I've bought 40 or so of these trucks and know pretty much what it's worth to me, but I don't want to insult anybody with what may be a lowball offer. FYI that 1 ton I pictured had an asking price was $2000 and I managed to get it for $1200. It is a BB truck that had current tags and inspection, with the majority of the rust issues dealt with.
You can personal message me with your asking price if you'd like.

Honestly...
It's a major project... If I knew someone here wanted it for parts or to restore, I'd let it go for under a grand, but that's w/out me re-registering it to get current tags. If I was interested in actually making money on it, I'd start sheet metal fabrication and re-wood the bed, toss a quick coat on it and sell it that way.
If I part out the chassis, engine, transmission and one-off parts, I could probably fetch a few grand, but I'm not up for all of the work and shipping, as I don't have the time. That's why I said to make me an offer... No one is going to insult me here. (unless someone offers me $100). What is worth X amount to one is worth Y amount to another. |

That truck looks like a 72 to me, except for the grill.
5 lug wheels, 1972 VIN..can you get the VIN off the frame for us? It is located where I am pointing in this pic. |
