VIN decoding help

A friend of mine has a 70-71? truck we've been trying to decode the VIN #'s.
It doesn't seem to match any of the "decoders" we've found, (including here).

Can anybody help us out on this?
Here's what the tag on the left door has;
KE234-SZ@#$%^

Thanks

Here is my try at it: If I am wrong someone please correct me.

K = 4 x 4
E = V-8 Gas
2 = 3/4 ton / 5200 - 7500 lb.
34 = Cab - pickup box (for GMC anyway I assume it may be) could be wrong here.
S = built in St. Louis
Z = 1970 for 15 Series

Ok this is my try at it, hope I win the big cookie and this helps.

Mike

Simple

K = 4x4
E = eight cylinder
2 = 3/4 ton
34 = fleetside box
S = St. Louis assembly plant
Z = 1970

It's a 1970 3/4 ton 4x4 GMC fleetside box pickup.

Not sure where above post got the Z= 1970 15 series...that ( 15 series) is the only thing wrong. Good got someone else to do these now..your faster than Longhorn Man now . And you even beat me to it.

Thanks guys.
The "-" between the "34" and the "S" had us bumfuzzled.
All the decoders seem to show the year number to come after the "34" and he just has the "-".
The only "Z" code I could find means Fremont assembly plant but it has the "S" for St. louis plant so I didn't know what was going on.
Thanks again.

70 and 71 GMC vins on some asembly plant lines did it differently like in your case.

The Z still means Fremont plant on many other variations of vins.

His truck is supposed to be a Chevy! It has a Chevy grille and tailgate anyway.
Could be the cab has been changed?

According to my 70 owners manual: C-96" or 106" conventional cab, M-V6 gasoline,3-6700-10000 GVW, my manual lists a 62 code for body and brake vs your 64; Chassis-Cowl (Full Air), the 0 digit denotes 1970 according to my owners manual so I am lost after this point. Hope this helps a little bit

Gee I dont know ..I saw one like this also..except it was a 4x4 and was KM2whatever..I cant even find the number anymore.

Anyway

C= conventionall cab
M= v6 gas
3 = 1 ton gvw range

4? dont know
0V = cab and chassis
C = 1967
Z= fremont plant
C= dont know

Its like GMC put model numbers for vins ..this makes more than a couple I've heard of like this.

Does it have air brakes? I'm trying to figure out what some of these abbreviations mean in my VIN decoder in the back of my owners manual?

Not tryin' to hijack the thread here but i'm having the same problem. The frame and cab #'s match, but the tag on the glovebox says CE234-ZZ51273, not sure what it comes back to???? Maybe a typo on the label or something I guess.

CE234-ZZ51273

C= Conventional cab
E = 8 cyl
2 = 3/4 ton
34 = fleetside box
Z = Fremont Plant
Z= 1970
51273 ... means sequence number.

frame number is where Longhorn Mans finger is typically..top of rail.. should start with the year then assembly plant and rest of sequence vin.

No vin rivets yet... mail is slow getting here from US.

I have to pass on figuring that vin bisquik..thats all I can figure for now...I'll write it down and see what I find.... it's one of those odd ones. I've got lots of peeps on this thread answering as I reload the pages. .lol

There's a little better pic of vin on frame.

CM3640VCZC14558

OK this is what I figure it is bisquik65

I should charge for this...

C= Conventional cab
M = V6 gas
3 = 1 ton
64 = GMC way of stating cab to rear axle dimension..in this case 64 means 84 inches
OV = cab and chassis order designation
C= 1967
Z = fremont plant
C14558 = GMC's starting serial number for trucks produced in USA in 1967 started with a C1*** you got number 4558 out of that plant or perhaps 14558.
