Does anyone know what these are?

I found these today at a local yard, they looked interesting and plus the price was right free.they came from a 1971 with sbc 327, they were mounted next to the engine with the first bolt that holds the motor towers on both sides they look like some kinda heat shields, I didnt see a gm part number on them so not even sure if they factory gm part or not ?Anyone know anything about em.

iirc, they only came with big blocks. the 327 that was in there isn't original.. last year for it in the trucks was '68.

They came with 350 in 1972, not just big blocks. I have my dad's unmolested 1972, and it has them. Don't know what other years and engine sizes came with them.

If you look at how they are placed on the frames, I would say they are only for small blocks. The shield will redirect air around the back side of a rams horn exhaust manifold. It wouldn't do anything for a bigblock because they dump further back.

da-burb is right. They are to deflect air onto a ram-horn manifold to dissipate heat. Not extremely rare, but you don't see them often.

Those are not BB pieces, the BB shield mounts to the floor board on the passenger side.
