Finally managed to pick up a set of AC vents and installed them, changed the cowl, resealed the seams under the cowl.Changed radio antenna, didn't help, but it looks better.Installed hte cluthch, and brake pedal pads, cleaned the rick of wood out of the back of it too
Not much really, but some odds and ends that have been needing done for a while.

I did not get to touch either of my two trucks, the one I am driving when not working on it, or the one I am stripping down for a frame up build. I got stuck working on my 84 Olds Delta 88, inherited car. The car looks like new with the exception of some dings on the right front fender, and has 48000 original miles. When the motor warms up it starts surging like a fuel filter is plugged up. I started general motor clean up and replaceing vacumn hoses as they are dry rotted and I have already ruled out the filter, started with 8' had to go back for more. I still have a lot of hose to go plus cap, rotor and wires. Today all I have accomplished kept the fire going, and this evening visited my friend Jim Beam Black.
Friday I went to a local yard, picked up a tilt wheel for an auto, going back to check the rest of his trucks for parts as he said he would be crushing everything he has as soon as his property dries up enough to get the crusher in. |

Went to make a dump run Friday before the winter weather came only to find the choke screwing up, (see post in Engine section). So it got snowed and iced on, therefore, not a damn thing got done. Too damn cold!

I finally decided what i was going to do with the frontend of my 67. The po had cut the center suport out of the factory grill and filled the opening with some ghetto billet which i never liked. I was going to go with a full phantom but changed my mind after i realized how much was involved. What i decided to do was to blank out the opening using 1/8" aluminum and then im going to cut out openings for the turn signals and some type of grill. I am still playing with ideas but i got my aluminum cut out and bent so now i just have to decide on a design and cut it out. I made the insert removable so if i decide late on that i dont like it then i cant just unbolt it and swap it out. It might end up looking stupid but thats the risk you take when building a custom.

After driving a truck all day in the white stuff on Saturday, then coming home and digging out, I took a long nap. Sunday, woke up, ate breakfast, dug out again, went over to mother-in-laws & dug her out/shovelled walk, then went to my parents and dug them out(with the snowblower!). Wish I still had my K2500 with the plow. Oh, I looked at my Burb' and wondered if the snow was ever gonna melt... Watched the pigeons' spank the falcons then saw a little of the steelers/pat's game...

Stripped both front fenders and doors of paint and bondo, found that my doors are in good shape but my fenders are pretty much scrap, with tons of bondo on them, holes, and horrible repairs. Me and my friend picked up my cab and set it on the frame, got to get an idea as to how low its going to sit.
Of course my dad, "Is that really going to sit that low? Your gonna need a sombrero to drive that." I took off the passenger rocker also. Went out and got a argon tank for the wire welder.

Finished sanding the inside of my bed on the '68. Did some work on the house (getting ready to put a subpanel in downstairs) so I can run a new 220 outlet. My wife got the mig out of layaway (Christmas), and I'm dying to use it. Gonna weld the rear inner wheelwells to the bed, so I can put the herculiner in with a smooth surface... no stupid hardware in the way... continued my search for the perfect shaker scoop, so I can fab the hood too... that's about it.
