Replacement doors?

Has anyone tried any of the various replacement door available for our Blazers? If so how was the fitment and quality? If I can't find some doors soon I'm probably going to pick up a pair from one of the sponsors.

Original GM Blazer doors had some additionl reinforcing on them that aftermarket doors don't have. The GM Shop Manual offers the directions on how to cut the window frame on a standard truck door for use on the Blazer's. Finding original Blazer doors in a rust free, dent free condition, can be a challange. Most guys just try to find the best truck doors they can, then cut them down according to the manual. I have not heard or seen any original truck doors failing to perform when modified for Blazer use all things being equal--good hinges, good doors to start with etc.

Hey Huck, or anyone else for that matter, do the truck doors have the reinforcements like the original Blazer doors? All of the truck doors I've seen tend to still have rust issues inside at the bottom. I didn't know about the reinforcement on Blazer doors so I never looked on the truck doors. Therefore I'm also considering the aftermarket doors when that time comes.

The reinforcement on Blazer doors is simply a piece of formed sheet metal that surrounds the door latch mechanism that protrudes from the door. Not sure what purpose it serves but they must have put it there for a reason.

no the truck door dont either,,, if you have a welder and a spot weld cuter you can put them on the replacement doors ,, I bought 3 of the goodmark door from gmcpaul and thought they were just as good as the originals,,,

I've got one of the doors from goodmark. I have not put it on the truck yet, but as soon as I do, I'll give a report. I'll be transferring the reinforcement plates from my old door to the new.

:tj: I'd like to do this same thing. New doors. When I do get them. I'm thinking of ways to prevent the new doors from rusting. Maybe drilling bigger drain holes, then poring epoxy in the seam in the bottom of the door, or spraying truck bed liner in the doors. Any ideas or suggestions?

I almost bought a door from the Truck Shop yesterday at a swapmeet. After looking at it closely it was really a piece of crap. I am going to go wwith cut down truck doors.

teamharvy,,, I know what you mean,, this summer when i was at the carlisle show I picked up my triplus (goodmark) doors from gmc paul then was walking down other isles and saw theres for 220 ( I think) and I paid 280 for mine ,,, first thought was then when I looked at them I relized I was much beeter off with the ones I got...
