One truck down, A new one gotten.
About two weeks ago my 61 was in a front end collision. To make a long story short, its totaled. All the new to me, strait, rust free sheetmetal in the front is done. the frame is bent, can even drive it, the frame is bent into the z-link for the clutch.
So....three days later I bought this. It's a 62 Short fleet. Has the good grill, not too much rust. needs rockers and cab corners, a little florr pan work. the roof has a couple of small spots in the front corners. It has a 283 w/2bbl. An sm420 4 speed. The rear end is stock eaton, not sure of the gear ratio, but it does have POSI. Yes I tested it So, I'm gunna strip the power disc off of my 61. If the rear end has the higher gear ratio, I am going to keep it and put disc in the rear. it is going to get a th350, power steering, power windows. The outside is going to stay flat black, red rims. the inside is gunna be a red, black variation. The gauge cluster is already gone in anticiaption of Autometers. It is going to get a tank under the bed, but not sure what yet, as I dont think the blazer tank will fit too well. well here are some pics:
