C10 vs. C-40+ dashes

I understand that you can put in a C-40 instrument cluster in a C-10, just wondering if the opening for around the steering column is the same or is it larger, I am hoping for the latter as I am putting in a aftermarket column. Any help would be appreciated.

Jim, I don't have a pic but I believe that the Big Truck Dashes didn't have the column part "punched" out. I'm sure someone will have a picture to explain better...

The c/40 and larger trucks did have the column area "punched out"...however, it was about 1 1/2 inches lower than the C/30 and lower trucks. The size is the same however.
