up and down slop in front CV joint.

How much up & down slop should be in the front CV joint on a 72 K5? I don't feel any torsional slop only up and down type motion. If I rotate it by hand, the slop runs up the side and then falls down. This repeats every rotation.

Thanks,
Richard

Thanks. I went and checked it again and the ujoints or the center ball is out. The guy I bought it from must have filled them with grease when I picked it up.

My CV joint attaches to the TF case with 4 bolts into a flange. The H member says Spicer. Do I have a Saginaw or a Spicer CV shaft?

Regards,
Richard

If the pin is broke, do I need a new front driveshaft?

Thanks,
Richard
