Thumbs down So what did you get done this weekend?

So what all did you get done this weekend?

My weekend sucked.
I thought I was going to get tons of stuff done due to extra time in the shop....but then I got my @ss kicked by a killer flu.

Finally got to the shop today...despite the 5 pounds of snot running down my face constantly...got all the salt and crap off the Town Car (right before I hear that it's gonna rain all week) then I get a call from a co-worker tellin me he's pickin up the boss aat the air port....and I'd better get my stuff cleared out.

Turns out his car didn't qualify at daytona this year...they crashed and them blew a motor....(he's a tire guy in the pits) so he was headin to the shop all p!ssed off lookin for some quiet time.
Time for me to pack up and hit the road

Oh yeah...I got my new hub caps on it.

Bolted some items to the frame. Polished 1 wheel, don't ask why.

Got angry at the rocker box and decided to "arm-strong" it off after fighting and trying to find a peaceful way of getting it off. I found out half the nieghborhood heard me say "thats right *****" after I ripped the rocker box off. Stupid "in tight space welds"............

EDIT:
thought i'd be a picture whore.........

i mounted a billet bowtie on the front of my truck, took my 94 silverado steering wheel off and straightened the turn signal lever so i could get my finger between it and the wheel, and i started the Putter hood pop idea, got my handle mounted and a hole drilled in the fire wall for the grommet to pop into and got the latch figured out, but had to stop do to the fact we had no metal to fab with. oh yeah watched the eagles get beat

Thursday, I got ripped. Friday, I skipped my first class so I could be one of the first 185 juniors and seniors to register for housing next year, or else I wouldn't get a room. Saturday, I did the Gospel Fest thing, and it was amazing. I also learned that the olds has a collapsed brake hose, because after driving it to steak and shake, the front wheel was smoking. Today, I pulled it all apart, and am now waiting on a replacement hose.

I unloaded a bunch of junk that I had collected in the back of the truck. Adjusted the carb last night and it's finally running nice and smooth. Just got done with a new brake light switch. Next weekend is harmonic balancer time.

Re:

Saturday afternoon, the wife and I gave the truck a much needed wash. I think the last time it was washed was before the engine and tranny swap back in September. We cleaned it up so we could cruise about 50 miles north to south Jackson for 1st Saturday, a local cruise-in at Flashbacks. Although I was not able to meet Putter and some of the other area guys from the board, I did meet Gman69! He is a great guy and seems like he would do anything to help out! We also met a guy with a custom 71 that was "his wife's"...it had a Paxton supercharger, chopped, frenched, etc. We told him about the board. Who knows, we may have a new recruit!

All in all, it was great to spend some quality time with the wife and get the truck out of the garage for a few hours. Looks like now it is back to the old work thing on Monday.

Got my garage cleaned up and reorganized. I have a little one-car with just enough room for a car and a work bench, so space is premium. I have come up with lots of ways to save space!

Also adjusted the garage door. It was hastily put in by me on somewhat of an emergency, so it needed it. I think I'll pull my motor soon and replace some gaskets and seals. Then while I'm at it, give it a fresh coat of paint.

i just found this thread....and am laughing my ass off at that comment...i can just see someone ripping metal off the truck standing up and going THAT'S RIGHT B!TCH! i've felt like crap all weekend and had to work so all i got done was i started tearing my old crappy bed off and realized the "intelligent"PO welded angle iron from the crossmembers to the bedsides to mount the sexy piece of plywood to so i have to cut the bed apart....
