Temp sending unit location ?
On a 72 blazer, where is the temp. sending unit located ? The PO built the motor up and possibly left it off. I have heard the drivers side head as well as up near the thermostat. I have a performer intake if that helps. Sorry, but I am pretty green when it comes to electrical.
Thanks, Bret

I've got the one in my truck mounted in the water neck. It reads right in the middle of the gauge while driving it around town and it will read cooler when I'm driving on the highway. So I guess either the water neck or the head will work. I think they were originally mounted in the drivers side head though.

The stock location is on the head, drivers side near #2 cylinder. Your temp reading will be higher if on the intake or on the thermostat housing---the higher the location--the higher the reading---usually! It is also much more noticable when you stop as the water pump slows down and the circulation allows the hotter coolant to rise to the top of the block.
