swaping rotors
I have a 78 truck with five lug rotors, but want to change to six lug rotors has anyone tried this swap? What is involved in this swap if possible?
Thanks for the help. |

You can find them on our site at the following link
http://www.gmcpauls.com/Brakes&Steering.htm You need to make sure that the current rotors you have from the 78 truck are 1 1/4" rotors not 1" as no one makes 6 lug rotors currently for the 73-87 1" rotor. GMCPaul |

Big 10 and Heavy Half rotors are thicker than all other ones, the same trucks also have 3/4" wider rear drums yet same shafts lengths,
good luck |

I bought a 6 lug disc brake kit from Early Classic for my 70, but they said their 6 lug rotor will fit all the way to 87, as long as your 5 lug rotor is 1.25" thick. I saw another company selling a 6 lug rotor at a swap meet, but it was a 5 lug that they plugged and redrilled to be a 6 lug. It was not pretty...

Ours are original new 6 lug rotors made in the USA also not plugged and redrilled 5 lug rotors as others sell and if you opt for the 6 lug disc kit with calipers it provides all new Made in the USA parts consisting of new GM calipers, pre-loaded with brake shoes, new hoses, bearings, seals, dust caps and cotter pins for both sides.
